The paid general holidays an employer owes under employment standards — worked out from the rules rather than typed out per year, so 2031 is as right as 2026. Optional days are marked optional, and the ones landing on a weekend are flagged rather than silently moved, because four different substitution rules apply across the country.
About the weekend ones
When a holiday lands on a Saturday or Sunday there is no single national rule. Some jurisdictions move the day to the Monday, some make the employer give a day off in lieu, some pay it out, and some do nothing at all — and federally it depends which holiday it is. Rather than pick one and be wrong somewhere, this shows the real calendar date and marks it. Your employment standards office, or your collective agreement, has the answer for you specifically.
Alberta owes nine. Heritage Day, Easter Monday, Boxing Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation are widely given and not required — which is why your friend at another company had the day off and you didn’t.
Employment-standards minimums. Not bank closures, not retail closing days, and not the days used for counting a legal deadline — those are three other lists, and they disagree with this one and with each other. Next up: Labour Day, in 12 days.
Fill in the fields. There is nothing to upload because there is nothing to send — the numbers you enter never leave this tab.
The arithmetic runs in your browser, on your own device, and the answer updates with every keystroke. Nothing is sent anywhere — so there is no record of what you earn, what you owe, or what you are thinking of buying.
One press puts it on your clipboard, ready to paste where you need it. There is no file to download — the result is text, not a document. Nothing is remembered — reload and the fields go back to their defaults, so copy anything you want to keep.
